Equipment Centre

Based at HAD’s HQ at the Woodside Centre in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, the Equipment Centre provides a wide range of equipment for older and disabled people, their families and carers. It is jointly managed by Occupational Therapists Chris Bellia and Jonathan Hill. Our Occupational Therapists together with their team of trusted assessors all offer expert assessments and honest, impartial advice in friendly, relaxed and comfortable surroundings.

Fri 9.00am - 4.30pm;
Sat 10.00am - 2.00pm.

Driving Centre

The Driving Centre provides driving assessments, tuition and transfer advice. Assessments help drivers regain their independence and return to driving in safety. We also assist with identifying the right adaptations to help you comfortably control your car. Driving tuition is available for learner drivers with disabilities or for drivers re-training to use adaptations.

24-hour Accessible Transport

“Nothing is accessible unless you can get there”

A six-strong fleet of adapted, wheelchair-friendly, fully accessible vehicles transport disabled people to work, doctor’s appointments, shopping, holidays and other leisure activities 24 hours a day. We believe this is the only 24/7 accessible transport service in the country to operate 365 days per year, and we are very proud of it!
