Volunteer for HAD

HAD could not exist without support from our valued volunteers. As an expanding charity we need help in all areas of our work:

Volunteers help us in so many different ways and we can utilise almost anything you have to offer. Crafting, leafleting, driving, gardening, cake making, admin, local fundraising, sports, organising, promoting, public speaking, beauty, cooking, socialising……. the list is literally endless!

If you would like further information on how you can get involved call our Volunteer Co-ordinator Linda Cudmore on 01707 384268 or fill out our Contact Form here.

You could become a friend of HAD and help in any of the roles listed below:

Fundraiser:

We are always looking to recruit Volunteer Fundraisers to create and co-ordinate fundraising events on behalf of HAD. For help in organising your own event just contact us and we will give you all the support you need. Click here to see many, many ways you could have fun and fundraise for HAD.

Support Volunteer:

You can support us at our Headquarters In Welwyn Garden city by putting your experience and skills to good use. We have many roles for you to slot into. Just contact Volunteer Co-Ordinator Linda Cudmore on 01707 384268 and have a chat about how you can best help us deliver our charity services.

Regional Volunteer:

You can raise the profile and awareness of HAD in your local community, as well as raising vital funds. You will be involved in recruiting volunteer helpers, organising and promoting events within your surrounding district, speaking to local clubs and groups about the work of HAD and representing HAD at local events.

Speaker:

Do you enjoy public speaking and meeting people? If so, we are looking for volunteers who would be happy to give presentations and talks about our work at HAD to organisations, community groups, universities, colleges and schools throughout the region. This helps to raise awareness of both HAD as a charity and the older and disabled people we can support through our life changing work. As a volunteer you can work from home and visit groups in your local area as little or often as you want.

Corporate Ambassador:

We are looking for well connected people who are able to use their influence and contacts in the local corporate community in and around Hertfordshire to help build HAD’s networks and fundraising partnerships. Your advice and expertise will also help us to maximise potential from our existing corporate partners.
Some of the activities that you might become involved in could be:
Introducing our us to decision makers in local companies and  organisations who could raise money or donate to HAD
Using your experience to help HAD maximise returns from our corporate partnerships.
Using your influence and networks to help us develop partnerships with local media organisations
Helping us to recruit skilled volunteers from your networks
Making introductions to key community figures, groups and networks who could either help with fundraising or campaigns. (e.g. MPs, mayors, WI, golf clubs, rotaries etc)

Reasonable volunteer expenses will be reimbursed and, where possible, there may be the opportunity to undergo training, either internally or externally, provided they support the role you have taken on.
