Equipment Centre
It is based at HAD’s HQ at the Woodside Centre in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire and provide a wide range of products and friendly advice for disabled people, their families and carers. It is jointly managed by Occupational Therapists Chris Bellia and Jonathan Hill, they and their team of Trusted Assessors will give you expert assessments and advice in friendly, relaxed and comfortable surroundings.
Centre Opening times:
Mon - Thur 9.00am - 5pm;
Fri 9.00am - 4.30pm;
Sat 10.00am - 2.00pm.
The former Easier Living Centre now houses a permanent display of specialist equipment and is open for you six days a week. We provide the opportunity for disabled people to see, try and buy a host of products including walking sticks, motorised scooters, wheelchairs, rise & recline chairs, kitchen and household items, bathing products, and a whole lot more. Indeed, if we don’t have the right solution for you, we will research on the internet and through our links and partnerships with other organisations until we find one. HAD took 30 thousand telephone calls last year and we would like to think we were able to help the majority of our customers!

We also offer a range of IT products that you can borrow to try out at home. These include computer peripherals, e.g. keyboards, mice etc. We believe it to be one of only two in the country and is popular with college students and people starting work.
Also, within the Equipment Centre we have a Multi-Sensory room designed for pre-school age children with learning and/or physical disabilities. Just give us a call on
