Registered Charity No: 1059015
Recently refurbished and now re-named The Terry Stevens Centre, this permanent display of specialist equipment is open to the public six days a week. It provides the opportunity for disabled people to see, try and buy a host of products including walking sticks, motorised scooters, wheelchairs, rise/recline chairs, kitchen and household items, computer equipment and a whole lot more.
Our friendly team, including an independent assessor, can give help and advice.
The Fast Track Equipment Service is also based in the Centre. This service is run by Adult Care Services. The Team carries out assessments and provides older and disabled people with prescribed equipment within a few days. Referrals can be made for minor adaptations.
For an appointment or more details contact Dan Waterfield, ‘Fast Track Equipment Service’ Administrator on 01707 384267.
We also offer a range of IT products that people can borrow to try out at home. These include computer peripherals, e.g. keyboards, mice etc.
The library, believed to be one of only two in the country, is popular with college students and people starting work.
Within the Easier Living Centre is a multi-sensory room designed for pre-school age children with learning and/or physical disabilities.
