Picture this... a great photo competition

Tanya and Shay

Images of Herts is a photo competition open to all photographers, professional or amateur, and aims to raise £10,000 for HAD by donating the £10 entry fees to us.

And Ivanhoe, HAD’s Mobile Equipment lorry, was certainly the focus of attention at this year’s Herts County Show when our own Tanya Dickson and competition organiser Shay Russell promoted the event.

Ivanhoe was promoting the competition organised by local business people Shay and Graham Roberts Phelps.

Shay and Graham are based at Childwickbury House, St Albans and hope to raise the money by donating all the entry fees to us.

“My company Virtual PA Plus has joined forces with HAD to launch this competition,” Shay explained. “We want all professional and amateur photographers to take part and record the beauty and diversity of this county, as well as raising funds for HAD.”

The competition, which was officially launched at the Childwickbury Arts Fair at the beginning of July, has eight different categories: The Four Seasons, Commerce & Tourism, Historical Monuments and Sites, People of Hertfordshire, Fauna, Flora, Industry and Black and White, covering any of the above.

Judges include Christiane Kubrick, the wife of the late film director Stanley who is also Graham‘s mother-in-law, HAD Patrons Jeff Wayne, Richard Walduck and Stelio Stefanou and Welwyn and Hatfield Times Editor Terry Mitchinson.

A hundred of the best images will be published in a unique
commemorative colour book.
