Tickets are priced at £40 and you can get more information and tickets from Ralph on 01707 320199 or The Woodside Centre switchboard on 01707 324581.
Todd Miller took a few moments to tell us a bit about himself and his musical influences:
Where are you from Todd?
I was born in Manchester and currently live in Buckinghamshire.
What were your earliest musical influences?
I remember my Uncle Jack singing Guy Mitchell songs when I was very young. A few years later, during the 50’s singers like Ronnie Carroll in the UK and Frank Sinatra in the USA, were big stars. Then the film Rock Around the Clock came out and made a star out of Bill Haley. After that Elvis Presley and the Beatles.
How would you describe your musical tastes?
Varied. When I first joined the Joe Loss Orchestra in 1972. Joe told me to be prepared to sing in a variety of styles – from Pavarotti to Mick Jagger.
Who are your favourite singers?
Of the men, Matt Monro from the old days and more recently people like Lou Rawls and Randy Travis. I also like Andrea Bocelli. Gladys Knight and Barbra Streisand are two of my favourite female vocalists.
How much influence does Joe Loss have on the current band?
Quite a lot. He always stressed the importance of entertainment. Being able to entertain your audience is a simple but important quality.
Family and hobbies?
I’m married to Val and we have two sons – Ed and Greg. We’re a real musical family, Val and Greg are both singers and Ed plays the guitar and sings. I’m a keen footballer and also play tennis.
