Booty-ful!

Nicky and boots

Nicky Giddens is swapping the cat-walk for a long walk in October.

The glamorous grandmother, midwife and former model is off to the USA to walk across the Rockies to raise money for the Children’s Society.

But before she does that she is planning a practice walk around Hatfield House to raise awareness of the event plus some money for HAD.

Nicky, from Furzefield Road, WGC, was snapped by a photographer from She magazine a Health and Beauty Exhibition in the 1980’s and later featured in a spread on Miss Big and Beautiful.

“It was great fun. I had a make-over and the story focused on me being a housewife and mother,” Nicky, who has three children and two grand-daughters, explained.

She’s currently a midwife at the QE2, where she’s worked for 10 years. She also used to work locally as a community midwife.

Nicky’s degree in geology that she obtained as a mature student at the University of Herts will come in useful when she’s taking on the Grand Canyon.

“There will be six days walking across really tough terrain and I have to raise £3.1k to be able to take part. I’m really looking forward to it, especially the celebratory dinner in Las Vegas on the last night!”

You can sponsor Nicky by finding her dedicated page on: www.justgiving.com/childrenssociety/raisemoney
