Yes, HAD Director Tim Bonnett and wife Trish will be appearing on the TV at the beginning of June.

The couple, who have cleared out all their unwanted household rubbish and made some money for HAD, are starring in the BBC1 day-time show ‘Trash to Cash’ to be broadcast on Tuesday June 3 at 11.30am.

Tim and Trish were filmed at their Hitchin home earlier in the year and managed to raise over £750 for HAD.

Their Whitehill Road home is a lot tidier after the show’s experts,
valuers – Lorna Spicer, Paul Hayes and Mark Franks – repaired a whole host of items.

These included one of rock fan Tim’s old guitars, his collection of DIY, motoring and gardening tools, a huge collection of old videos and loads of general household bric-a-brac that the family no longer need.

Half the money raised goes to HAD with the remainder being put towards Tim and Trish’s daughter Laura’s wedding later this year.

The programme culminated in a giant house sale in February with ex-policeman Tim’s 1963 Hofner Verithin guitar fetching £600. .

“It’s great to be able to help HAD in their 50th year,” Tim explained. “With three grown-up children away from home, we seem to have accumulated quite a lot of clutter over the years,” he said.

Trish, a Business Development Manager with the local Pinehill Hospital, said: “To be able to clear out lots of it and make some money for a worthwhile cause is great news.”

Chief Executive Annabelle Waterfield was equally delighted: “We’ve got a number of fundraising events planned for this special year and to have this added cash is a real boost,” she said.
