Nice try Transport!

HAD Director Tim Bonnett is also Chief Executive of the Spire Rugby Trust and Rugby Football Union Charitable Fund.

Tim hired a HAD self-drive vehicle recently to take one of his severely disabled clients – Ali Johnston (pictured) from Kings Cross to Twickenham and back for the England versus Ireland international.

London traffic proved challenging in both directions and the client
missed his train back to Newcastle so Tim ended up using the HAD vehicle to drive the client and his partner up to Scotch Corner to meet the client’s father for onward travel to his home in the Pennines.

“The ease of vehicle hire, competitive cost and the quality of the vehicle were a testament to the transport service we have,” Tim explained. “I have been in discussion with the RFU to use HAD as a regular source of match day transport for my clients, all of whom are severely disabled.

“The clients appreciate the personal service and I get to see the match with them so it’s a good deal all round. I was not expecting to drive quite so far in the vehicle but in London traffic and up the A1 in a howling gale and torrential rain, the HAD vehicle performed brilliantly.”

All in all a perfect day then – especially with England winning 33-10!
