Fundraising Cricket Tournament and Auction
HAD’s big summer fundraising event – a six-a-side cricket tournament and auction – will take place on Friday August 19.
Eight local teams, made up from the business and sporting community, will be taking part in the event at the Old Albanian Sports Ground, Harpenden Road, St. Albans – next door to the Texaco garage. There is still time to enter a team. If you are interested, contact the cricket hotline on 07973 237162 or call into The Woodside Centre.
Tickets for cricketers are £40 each – £240 per team – and include an afternoon’s cricket, three-course sit-down meal and auction. Cricket-only and auction/meal-only tickets are £25.00. Tickets are available at the Woodside Centre.
Play starts at 12.30 and, with two squares available at this magnificent venue, the cricket should be fast, furious and fun. Throughout the day a silent auction will be held.
After being wined and dined and the top team has been presented with the HAD Trophy, the main auction, which has a strong sporting theme, will take place. Auctioneer will be local sporting legend Peter Mardle.
