Two major fund raising days are fast approaching – and both are becoming well-established annual events.
The Easter raffle and egg trail takes place on Easter Monday (April 17) in the magnificent back garden of HAD Director Edna Stephens’ house at 13 Lemsford Village.
The garden, known as Kingfisher Island, will be open from 2pm, with snacks and cold drinks. Entrance is £1 for children and accompanying adults.
First prize in the Easter raffle is a magnificent chocolate lover’s hamper. Tickets for the raffle are now on sale at the Woodside Centre, priced £1 each.
Two months later – on Saturday June 17, Edna is again opening up her garden for Jazz on the Island. Like last year, visitors can bring a picnic and enjoy traditional jazz from local band Bob Thomas and the Thomcats. Tickets are £7 in advance and £10 on the door and the fun starts at 7pm.
