The organisation was set up in 1958 by the then Welfare Department of the County Council to supply equipment to disabled people. HAD has grown a great deal in the intervening years and today are proud of the services we offer that help Hertfordshire’s disabled people maintain their independence and keep on the move.

To provide the services HAD employs 20 people at The Woodside Centre and seasonally between 16 and 22 people at its holiday accommodation in Clacton.
