Move over Tiger and let Jaguar take over

small jag

There’s an S-type Jaguar, courtesy of local Welwyn Garden City dealer Grange, up for grabs as a hole-in-one prize at HAD's inaugural Golf Day.

The event takes place on Friday September 21 at Mill Green Golf Club and as well as team and individual prizes for the 4-ball Stableford competition there will be breakfast, a three-course lunch and a fundraising auction.

Cost is £200 per team and, as the event is limited to 20 teams, it’s advisable to get your entry forms in quickly.

Meanwhile, the third annual HAD Jazz on the Island evening on June 16 was a wet, windy and profitable affair.

Over 100 hardy souls braved bad weather and enjoyed a great evening’s entertainment at HAD Director Edna Stephens’ Lemsford garden. A great set of trad jazz from regular performers Bob Thomas and the Thomcats meant everyone was tapping their soggy feet and clapping soaking hands.

At times the atmosphere was similar to the Last Night at the Proms with umbrellas and anoraks replacing Union Jacks. Despite the bad weather most fans turned up with their obligatory picnics and cold drinks and everyone dug deep by supporting the bumper raffle which helped raise £1500.00 on the night.

Golf entry forms are available as a downloadable PDF file here
