Sunday April 23: Flora London Marathon. Identical twins Tyara and Tamara Banerjee – daughters of HAD Finance Director Jon Banerjee are running to raise money for HAD.

Saturday June 17: Jazz on the Island. Local trad jazz band Bob Thomas and the Thomcats will be the star attraction at this picnic, again at 13 Lemsford Village. From 7 -11.30pm. Tickets cost £7 in advance from reception and £10 on the door. Call 01707 321802 for full details.

The organisation celebrates its golden anniversary in 2008 and we are already planning some special events. Phil Caley is not just a big hit as Transport Manager at HAD. He’s also the cup-winning cricket captain of Suffolk. HAD is now offering a wheelchair hire service at the Terry Stevens Centre. There’s an S-type Jaguar, courtesy of local Welwyn Garden City dealer Grange, up for grabs as a hole-in-one prize at HAD's inaugural Golf Day. Hertfordshire Action on Disability has joined the campaign to save the QE2 Hospital.
