Julie spreads the word on epilepsy

Julie Dennison at book launch

Forty people from several counties attended the recent launch of local author Julie Dennison’s book ‘Weathering the Storms’, which tells of her lifelong struggle with epilepsy.

Julie, who lives in WGC, has seizures every day of her life, but devotes much of her time to giving talks and writing articles to increase the public’s knowledge of this common condition.

The launch, hosted by Hertfordshire Action on Disability, at the Woodside Centre, WGC, attracted representatives of the National Society of Epilepsy, the local Primary Care Trust, St Elizabeth’s special school and UCB Pharma who market the anti-epileptic drug
Keppra. Julie was also accompanied by friends and family.

Following an announcement that ‘Weathering the Storms’ had already become the best selling epilepsy book on amazon.co.uk, Julie read extracts and went on to sign copies for those present.

‘Weathering the Storms’ is published by Emdee Publishing, and is on sale at Maher Booksellers in the Howard Centre, WGC or via Julie’s web site: www.livingwithepilepsy.org.uk
