Peter's Easter 'eggstravaganza' 9 April 2018 Peter Thomas had a sweet surprise when he popped into his local pub on Easter Monday. The retired pharmaceutical consultant from Harpenden visited the Old Bell in Luton Road to discover he had won our Easter raffle and was now the owner of an 11kg Swiss chocolate Easter egg.“I bought some tickets for the egg as I am a regular supporter of HAD. But I never thought I would win,” Peter explained. “Now I'm in the process of seeing if I can donate it to another worthy local cause. It's true it goes well with a glass of red wine, but such a cocktail could have serious health risks!”The giant egg was made and donated by Lessiter's in Woolmer Green. Runner-up in the raffle was Old Bell Team Leader Sammi-Jade Bennett. Sammi won a collection of chocolate treats donated by Amelie Chocolat in Welwyn Garden City. More eggs were supplied by Tesco's stores in Hatfield and Harpenden. Thanks, as always, to all our Easter suppliers and for all those purchasing raffle tickets.
