Equipment Centre gets a make-over 23 May 2018 HAD's equipment centre has undergone a speedy spring-clean and re-fit recently. Work started on the centre, which stocks a huge range of mobility products, at the end of April and was completed two weeks later. The work was carried out by local builders Jem Property Solutions. Extra space has been created by dispensing with the unused multi-sensory room and this area will now house the popular beds and seating clinics, where consultations and assessments can be carried out in a more private environment. The project was managed by HAD trustee Mike Thompson: “By investing funds very kindly raised by the RO Group in Potters Bar, the centre can now provide a better shopping experience for our customers. There's more space to browse, and by creating another cash desk we have accelerated the payment process too.”Fitting extra shelves means products, such as footwear, can be better displayed. HAD chair Nigel Dotchin (pictured second from right with customer Joy Dorsett and staff) was on-hand to officially open the new centre: “The result of all this work is not just good news for our customers, it's great for our staff. Centre manager Cherie West and her team have been working in cramped conditions for a long time, so they will benefit too.” The equipment centre refurbishment is the first step in an ongoing project to update and improve HAD's premises at the Woodside Centre.
