Mayor aims for fun and games at traditional pub event

29 March 2017

After a busy year of civic and charity duties, Welwyn Hatfield mayor Pat Mabbott is going back in time for her final fundraising event for HAD.

Pat will be holding a special traditional pub games day at her local pub, The Sun Inn, Lemsford Village, on Saturday 29 April.

The event, which starts at 3pm, will feature skittles, darts, dominoes, shove (new) penny, marbles and many other games.

The mayor said: “We’re all looking forward to trying out some of the brilliant pub games of times gone by. Some of the youngsters won’t have played these games before, but I’m excited to see how they get on. I'm sure there will be lots of fun for the whole family."

There will also be traditional pub food, a quiz at £5 a head starting at around 8pm, and a fundraising raffle

Event organiser, HAD fundraiser Paul Bishop, hopes as many local quiz teams as possible take part. If you want to enter a team (six per team) contact Paul on 07973 237162, or Sun Inn manager Adam Mayson, on 01707 322247 for more information. Alternatively, just turn up on the day.
