Disability app designed by London terrorism survivor

31 January 2012

A new application for the Apple iPhone has just been released by 7/7 survivor Daniel Biddle who is one of several victims of the London Underground bombings to have spoken out about their experiences since the attacks.

His aim in creating 'Ldn Access' was to provide a simple but full featured assistant for those looking to maintain their London social lives despite their injuries. The application, or 'app' find a user's location and shows them a very well researched list of venues and lists their accessibility for wheelchairs, mobility scooters and push chairs etc. It will even locate accessible baby changing facilities. The program lists venues by type such as hotels, theatres, restaurants, pubs and attractions and is easily operated by simple icons as opposed to long lists. Also, a directory of accessible Olypmic venues is included in the app by default.

Ldn Access is due to become available on Android, Windows Phone and Blackberry in the near future. The app is currently available on the iTunes App Store for £1.49.
