HAD charity Easter egg hunt and raffle
05 May 2011
There was plenty of family fun at the eighth annual HAD charity Easter egg hunt and raffle - especially for the Beadle family from WGC!
David Beadle and his family joined more than 300 people at the event at 13 Lemsford Village, on Easter Monday. It was David’s third appearance and it proved to be lucky as he claimed first prize in the raffle, winning a giant 10kg Easter egg.
David, from Handside Lane, was joined by wife Wendy, sons Adam and Stephen and their partners Lauren and Kelly as well as grandsons Isaac and George. They could all enjoy the egg, donated by Lessiter’s of Woolmer Green.
Visitors enjoyed the beautiful weather at the event, once again held in the magnificent woodland garden of HAD Director Edna Stephens. The day also included a tombola, teas, cakes and chocolate eggs, many kindly donated by WGC’s Amelie Chocolat.
The event raised £1500 and HAD Chairman of Fundraising Paul Bishop praised visitors and organisers alike: “This is now a well established event in the HAD fundraising calendar and always attracts big crowds,” he said.
“Many thanks to Edna and her team and thanks also to Hans Luder and Phillip Levy of Lessiter’s and Amelie Chocolat respectively. But the stars of the show are really the public who continue to support us in such large numbers. Hopefully we’ll see them again on June 25 for our Jazz on the Island event.”
