A number of staff, friends and supporters of HAD got saddle - sore when two teams entered the 2009 St Albans Rotary Club Charity Cycle Ride recently.
The Rotary Club named HAD as one of their chosen charities so Transport Manager Phil Caley and his son Jonathan, Mobility Manager Matt Miller and Billy Ingham, brother of Receptionist Daniella joined 1500 other riders in one team. Paul Bishop, Matt Smith and Jimmy Gibbs formed the ‘We’ve HAD It’ second team. Our Mobile Equipment Service 'Ivanhoe' was also present.
Torrential rain for most of the morning meant conditions were perfect for a boat race rather than a bike ride. But the bad weather failed to dampen the spirits of the competitors, with everyone, whether completing 10, 20, 30 or 40 miles, having a great time.
The Rotary Club will hold a special evening in July when the amount raised will be announced.
