Our two cycling teams that took part in a recent charity ride might have been tired and wet but it was worth it.
This year's St Albans Rotary Club cycle ride raised £4,000 for HAD and Mobility Centre Manager Matt Miller (above, right) and Fundraising Chairman Paul Bishop (above, left) were on hand to pick up the big cheque from St Albans Rotary Club President Andrew Lovett.
The presentation took place at St Albans Civic Centre on July 14 with team members Matthew Smith and Jimmy Gibbs also present. Jimmy received a special trophy for raising the most money.
HAD’s other cyclists that took part in the ride, held on May 17, were Transport Manager Phil Caley, his son Jonathan and Billy Ingham, brother of Receptionist Daniella.
'Both the ride itself and the subsequent reception were very well organised,' Paul Bishop explained. 'I think everyone really enjoyed it and we'll be entering a team next year just for the fun of it!'
Thanks to St Albans Rotarians and all the people who sponsored the two HAD teams. The money will be spent on refurbishing the exhibition area of our Mobile Equipment vehicle Ivanhoe.
